Annie 134/365

Today I am thankful that Annie learned how to give kisses today. I started really trying to get her to kiss yesterday. I would kiss all of her animals and then her and kept saying kiss over and over. We have worked on this before, but she never paid much attention. This morning I asked her for a kiss and she put her little mouth (wide open) right up to my face. LOVE IT! I bet I have asked for a million kisses today and she happily obliges every time. And she pretty much thinks she is a big girl now and is pulling up on all kinds of things. This has been a big week for baby girl.

Today has been a LONG day - mostly because last night was a very long night. It was one of those nights where one girl was pretty much up at all points in the night. Just as soon as I would get back to sleep, one of them was up again. Luckily, I have not felt too crazy tired until tonight. Lucy is beyond exhausted because she didn't go to sleep until midnight last night. She went to bed at her normal time - 8ish but just talked, flopped, and wiggled until midnight. She never does this, so it was really weird. She has no fever today and seems to be feeling fine, so who knows why this happened. She was dead asleep by 7:05 tonight. I am praying for a very quiet and uneventful evening.

I am very glad this day is over. I was much less patient than normal because of our night last night. By dinner time, both girls were melting down and I just didn't have it in me to deal with a total meltdown. I really didn't think that the thirty minutes from 6:20 to 6:50 would ever pass. Annie was in bed asleep by 6:55 and Lucy was very quick to follow. Thank goodness they went to bed so easily.

I am in bed now for the rest of the night. About to enjoy the Grey's finale. Night!

I am living in tantrum city right now! Girl, I feel your pain. Gotta love the kisses though. They are the one thing that always makes me smile.

I just found your blog and am really enjoying it. If you get a chance, can you email me at limestoneabode@hotmail.com? I think we live in the same area, and I wanted to ask about confirming the adoption.
Thanks,
Teressa

Well I'm not calling you a liar... :p but I find it REALLY hard to believe those smiling faces have meltdowns. You should do a "this is real life" post one day! Because from this perspective it looks like sunshine, smiles and perfect sweetness! ROTFL

I love hearing how Annie is progressing and I really do believe Lucy becomes more beautiful every day... is that possible? Here's hoping you got lots of uninterrupted sleep last night!

I also just found your blog and like to read about your everyday. The girls are just lovely! Gotta love it when kids learn to give kisses. We have 2 types of kisses for our girl: one for us where we can kiss cheeks and one for strangers where she kisses her hand and sends the kiss (less germy!).

Boy, I've had those squirmy nights too. Usually cuz they had an exciting day and/or growth spurt. Hope you're well rested now!

I've been reading your blog for a while now, but I have to comment about the whole never-ending block of time that lasts from 6 P.M. to 7 P.M. (The Hour of Hell). My children (3 and 2) absolutely lose it during that time 5 days out of 7. Makes me CRAZY! Time never moves as slowly as it does during that time of the day... For some reason, time flies by during naps... :o)
