162/365

Lucy 161/365

Annie 161/365

Today (technically yesterday now) I am thankful for electricity. You really take it for granted until an enormous storm blows through your neighborhood and knocks it out for the entire day! We lost power yesterday morning around 9 am. We didn't get it back until sometime in the night when we were all asleep. I lost an entire refrigerator/freezer of food. That makes me really sad because it is going to be very expensive to replace it all. We couldn't get out at all while it was storming, which was a really long time, because we have an electric gate behind our garage. Justin eventually cranked the gate open, so we could at least escape, but it was too late for the food. Our yard is trashed. It looked like our yard was a lake/river. Justin's parents are coming up today to help us get it all cleaned up. They are wonderful like that - the first to offer to help with anything. But this is obviously why I didn't post yesterday. I do think the flashlight pictures turned out fun!

Now, on to something very, very important. Last month I Heart Faces did a Blurb book contest. They announced the faces that would be in their book yesterday and my sweet Annie made it! But, I am one of 8 pictures chosen to get voted on by readers for the Readers Choice Winner. The winner gets a free copy of the book, and I would love to win. So please go and vote HERE for my entry - I am listed as Lucy in the Sky and it is a black and white of Annie. The voting is open until next Tuesday, so vote several times. I know how many people visit this site a day, so I am expecting a lot of votes!! :)

I'm glad your family is okay. Sorry about the loss of food and damage to your yard.
Okay, I had a hard time telling Lucy and Annie apart in these pictures. They are both so beautiful with their big smiles and bright eyes.

how cool are those pictures! The situation you had to take those in sucked but the photos turned out great! Kell, if you need an extra pair of hands, I am there. All you have to do is say the word. I could bring Austen with me so Lucy would have a play friend. Let me know and I am sorry for all the mess. Love you all and take care, I know help is on the way!

The flashlight pix are cute! Voted for Annie. How can you not LOVE that precious face?

Cute pictures! Sorry to hear about the rain damage! :( The view of Annie's full mouth of teeth makes her look like a 4 year old! I voted 25 times this morning and will keep voting numerous times till you win!

Yea for the power back on! And yea for Nana and Grandy to the rescue! Luckily we have so far managed to miss the storms you are sending our way. Have a tennis tourney starting today for this weekend. Should be really hot and miserable. Wish I could be there to help. I'm sure you can save something for me to do! Love and kisses, Lee Lee

Kelly - I just went to vote for you (and did) and then decided to scroll down to see who else made the top 8 and I SAW MY PHOTO!! AH!

Now, you owe ME a vote! :o) LOL!

I voted for your about 25 times as well, and you are in second place now. But that last picture seems to be hard to catch, I could literally watch the votes go up, there must be someone sitting there all day and vote for it! I would have voted for your picture even if you wouldn't enjoy to read your blog so much, since it really is one of your greatest pictures and in my opinion by far the best in the poll!
I'll vote for it again on the weekend!

I am about to go vote until 6 o'clock. We have terrible weather here so I'm sure no one will be coming to the Bella's. Love and miss you. Those lights out pics are the coolest thing I have ever seen. Seems like it was fun, but probably really hot, unlike when MY power went out. for a week. In frigid weather.

I really wish that poll was the type where people couldn't sit there and vote repeatedly... doesn't seem fair for those who can't sit in front of the computer indefinitely! :(

Oh crumb, that's me above (I can never remember my username and password so I just do anonymous and sign my name - course I have to remember to sign my name)

Anyway, I've tried to vote repeatedly but you're still in 2nd place.

Good luck cleaning up all that mess! We had the tornado sirens and all going off on us. Not a fun time...so glad to hear you are safe. :)

Voting... I'm on it!

Congrats on being a finalist! I was quite shocked to see my own in the mix too. My poor father-in-law is up against some darn cute kids! Wishing you luck with the contest but more importantly with all your clean-up.

Shoot! I should have totally scammed off the storms and claimed they took our power out yesterday too! Ah well. Too late now.

So sorry you lost power. Was it just miserable and so hot? Did you see if your home owners insurance will cover the food loss? When we had a power outage in MI everything in our freezer was covered which was nice since we had literally a half cow.

I really REALLY love these photos. They are so totally different and super cool. Raw emotion!
