Just a quick post tonight to say that both girls really loved their first day of gymnastics. Lucy was a champ! She did perfectly fine on her own with her little class. At the beginning of the class they did stretches, I think the teacher's jaw hit the ground when she saw how flexible Lucy is. I swear she is made of rubberbands. I am always so proud of her because her teachers always compliment her on being such a wonderful listener. Sweet girl. Now Annie, she was all over the place, but she is with me and still so little, I fully expected that on day one. We'll see how she does after a few weeks of getting used to how things work. And just for the record, I do of course realize that Lucy is wearing a dance leotard, not a gymnastics one. But I have three steadfast rules when it comes to dressing my girls:

1. No neon
2. No crushed velvet
3. No mesh

If you can find my a gymnastics outfit without one of those things, PLEASE let me know. I haven't looked extensively, but so far that is all that I can find, so we went with a standard dance outfit and skirt. Much cuter.

I have a fun, fun, fun blog that I want you guys to check out. Nicolle is doing a 365 Project with her flip video camera. Each day she posts a video of something from her day. Some days they are totally random, but that is why I love it so much. THIS video is especially hilarious to me. She can do some pretty cool editing and I always love what she has to say. I would pay attention to her because some day she is going to be a big country star! She is a song writer and musician. Some days you are lucky enough to see her in action on the videos. I know Nicolle because she is from the same teeny tiny town in Kansas that both of my parents are from. It had been a million years since I had seen her (like she was a little kid when I saw her) and then she met Justin through the music scene in Nashville. Really, it is a small world out there. Anyway, her blog is all kinds of fun and I think you should add it to your reader so you can see what she comes up with each day. If you think taking a picture each day is hard, editing a video everyday is a million times harder, so go and cheer her on!

I am off to watch The Biggest Loser. Have a great night!

Target has super cute one-piece leotard/shorts outfits that are black and pink. They are supposed to be for dance but look like gymnastics to me.

Those pictures made me laugh out loud!! Love em! Lucy looks like an accomplished gymnast already! And Miss Priss with the bib???!!! Too much fun. Glad it was a success. I will personally be looking for a crushed velvet, neon outfit with a mesh midsection. I bet it will be awesome! And I know that you and Dada will just love it. I'll get two, one for Anners, too!

Love and kisses, LeeLee

I have gotten some from www.gk-elitesportswear.com/ for Hope. They are for real gymnastics leotards, so they are a tad pricey, but you will get to use them twice! Have you checked any dance shops in Dallas? They usually have some gymnastics leotards as well. Plenty of non neon, crushed velvet, mesh ones out there!

Sadly it is super hard to find cute leos so when Maddie was in gym she pretty much just wore the cute ballet leos! I did find some cute ones in Utah at build a bear.. they have a site but last time I was on, it didnt show the leos.. they were made of lace.. it was darling so I had to get one for Mad!!

Your three fashion rules cracked me up. haha

And picturing your mom, up late, surfing the 'net looking for a leo that BREAKS all three rules and then, buying TWO of them?? Ahhhhh...funnny stuff.

I have seen some pretty cute leotard in muted tones at my local dance store, so I know they're out there. They're like the unitard kind that have a little bit of leg to them, like shorts. I love the first pictre, and the one in the gym!

Cracking up over your fashion rules! I agree! Although, if they ever start competing...neon city! :)

I am a frequent reader/lurker. YOur girls are SO cute. For good (cheap) leotards check out www.discountdancesupply.com and/or www.dancedistributors.com One or both are sure to have the right thing.

Kelly - embrace your inner crushed velvet & neon. Never say never, I say. TEE HEE!!!!! Just wait - Lucy will be all over those tacky ones. She's going to be flipping all over soon & that skirt is going to be in her way! (you know I love the skirt!!!)

If you remember correctly, I used to wear a pink/orange/green neon leo that I looked fab in. Mom has a picture of me in it made into a button.

Ok, well I am off to make a few faxes... ;)

Girl we have GOT to have SOMETHING for you that meets those criteria!! I will look through our stash and email you directly and if you want it/them, they are yours! Addy has outgrown so much and we spent a fortune on them - i'd love them to get some more use.

I do love velvet in a leo though! So that might be tough.

So glad your girls loved it! Addy LOVES for gym day.

This is where we used to get my leotards! They're adorable, and some of them won't fit your requirements, but some of them are sooo sweet and pretty!
