Annie 52/365

Lucy 52/365

Today I am thankful for my dad. It is his birthday. Happy Birthday Dad/Papa!! I have awesome parents. They are kind, loving, and extremely supportive. My dad is the greatest. He would do anything in the world for me or any of my sisters. He is a golf fanatic. Plays everyday but Mondays and the only reason he doesn't play then is because the club is closed. I am sorry it was raining today so that you couldn't play golf. I hope you and mom made it to the movie before the party tonight. Sorry Lucy didn't want to talk on the phone today. Little toot! I really hope you had a great day! Love and miss you dearly!

Today was a weird day for me. I was just kind of in a funk all day. Annie has been off on her sleeping the past several days again. She had been doing awesome and is still doing way better, but for some reason she is struggling again. I am really tired. It is so hard to get going in the morning. Both girls went down for their nap at the same time this afternoon and I was so excited to lay down myself. I never try and sleep while they are napping. I just don't ever feel like sleeping. However, today I was so relieved to have the down time and some recovery time. Of course, Annie didn't really nap at all. I was very frustrated and annoyed. And tired. Mandy invited us over for pizza and smores and that really made it all better. Thanks again girl. You saved me! I am going to feel better tomorrow. I hate it when I am this tired - I am much less patient and understanding. The girls deserve more.

We have a really busy day tomorrow. I teach Lucy's Sunday School class, we have a house showing and an open house. We are going to be on the go nonstop. I am tired just thinking about it. Hopefully it will all go well. Luckily Justin will be home bright and early. I have missed him terribly this trip.

Her cheeks are getting so chubby. Love it!

Pizza and smores, yup, I bet that did the trick! Tomorrow should go much better! Hope all goes well with the showing and open house. Your home is wonderful, so I'm sure it will! Glad you were able to get a little rest too.

Poopsie, I am so sorry that you are pooped!! Annie--let's sleep really well for Momma tonight. And hooray that Daddy gets home. All good things. We didn't do the show, will do later. The party was fun. Several strange people made strange speeches, but the food and friends were great! They did a God Father theme. Flowers and tables were lovely. They tried to challenge different tables to answer movie questions, and of course I was NO help because I never watched after that horse head thing happened. So, there you have it! PaPa LOVED all the golf balls. Seriously! So, all you girls did good! I'm sending you lots of love and positive sleep vibes, and a big hug and kiss. Love, Lee Lee

PS--Seashy is out of the will. Failed on the phoning to Dad. Her card was of course, hilarious. And she did finally call right before we left for the party.

PSS--pics are fab

Your mom is a hoot! So cute!

Praying you sleep well tonight and ready to tackle the day.

Kell, Thanks so much for the golf balls, they are such special balls. I can't think of any other balls I would rather have. Love Dad

I just adore that first photo of Annie what brilliant eyes she has. I understand the tired and frustration... I too have been feeling that. It seems like for a month now Malia has not had more than a couple happy days in a row.. I need to remember she is just a tiny thing and isnt just trying to tick me off with her tude!! I hope your day goes well tomorrow and your showing ends up as a sale! Also wanted to say we went private last year for awhile when I got a little weirded out but then had so many people ask what was up that we opened it back up and Im glad we did but I still sometimes feel creeped out when I check out my stat counter!!! So I feel you there! Sorry that was a long comment!

Lee - Yes, my dad is making a SNL reference. He got 3 dozen golf balls for his birthday and he thinks he is so funny!!!! Of course, it totally cracks me up but thought maybe I should clarify before someone thought my dad was some kind of perv! Ha.

I have been reading your blog since I saw it on Sugar Photography's blog. Your girls are just so adorable and I love how you are doing daily pictures. I finally found my camera cord and need to do the same with mine. I am trying to hint to hubby to get me a new camera haha ;).

Good luck on the Open House today!

Oh, I can so relate. We brought our daughter home from Vietnam five months ago, and she is still having serious sleeping issues. And when she doesn't sleep, we don't sleep. I am constantly praying for patience. Its so hard to function normally when you are sleep deprived.

Oh man, sleep stuff is so hard. I almost think it's worse when things finally get better and then they swing back to hard. Hope you get rested up and the open house goes great!

Happy Birthday to Papa!!!

I love that not only are they shining and beautiful, but I can see you in Annie's eye in that first shot. It's awesome. You are really good at the photography Kelly. I say it all the time but when I think it can't get any better, you add a new trick to your arsenal. Very impressive.

Crossing my fingers for the open house today!!

Okay. I am leaving a comment. I just wanted to say, cut yourself some slack, girl, for having an off day yesterday! You are working SO hard all the time with your girls and it really, really shows. You are one of the most devoted and natural mothers I know. And sometimes you just get to have an off day. We love you guys! (Have you come down off the sugar high from last night yet? (Has lucy?!)

Love, Mandy

I know what you are going through with the sleep deprivation. My sons are approximately the same ages as your girls, and my 9-month-old is teething like a fiend and has a head cold to boot, so he doesn't even want to nap during the day for more than 20 minutes. It is so rough! Good luck!

Wow, you DO have some great friends...pizza and smores sound delish! Don't be so hard on yourself though...we ALL have those days when we are short with our kids...let's just hope they remember the days when we are all we should be for them.

I love the picture of Lucy laughing.

PS. Your dad is a riot...sounds like he is having a fun birthday!

Yes indeed...sleep deprivation stinks! Hope the sleep fairy visits tonight and you wake up refreshed in the morning. Hang in there and good luck with your open house.

oh my gosh, that first picture is absolutely amazing! I will hope that sleep comes your way tonight! It is SO hard to parent when sleep deprived! I so hear you!

I feel you on the sleep stuff. I was a monster today. Finley was up ALL. FREAKIN. NIGHT. It does get exhausting, and patience is always the first thing to go the next day. Anyway, I LOVE that picture of Lucy with her wisps of hair and her little dimple in B&W.
Happy birthday to your Dad, who sounds like he and mine could be good buddies. Although mine's a tennis guy, sucks at golf I think.

I absolutely hear you on the sleep issue. Elizabeth does not sleep for more than 40 minutes at a time. This includes all night and daytime naps. I am so exhausted during the day, but find it very hard to actually take a nap when she does. I either can't fall asleep because I know I will be up again with her in like 15 minutes, or I just want the down time to look at a magazine or something. I don't know what her deal is either. She was doing better for about a week and now back to the same old sleepless nights. Please, sleep girls, sleep!
Let me know if you find anything that works.

I hear exactly what you are saying about the being tired, impatient and that the girls deserve more. That captures how I feel for our boys. They deserve so much more than my energy level has to give them these days. I hope all starts to work itself out for you and that Miss Annie sleeps well.
