325/365

Lucy 325/365

Annie 325/365

Today I am thankful for how much fun the girls have every night after dinner. They chased one another all over the house just laughing and smiling the whole time. Then they rolled around wrestling on the floor together. So sweet and cute to watch!

I am trying to decide if I have the energy to do anything tonight. I am such an old lady these days!

Hi Kelly,
Annie's story is very much like my daughter's. She is now two and is still on prevacid and a mild laxative. When I went to the orphanage for the first time, the head nanny told our facilitator flat out that Aimée was a very difficult baby that cried most of the time. She said that she had to rotate her around frequently because the other nannies did not want to be in charge of her. Sadly,I believe that Aimée may have been placed in a crib in another room at times so they did not have to deal with her constant crying. Out of frustration, Aimée arched her back all the time. Consequently, the back of her head was very flat. She wore a corrective helmet for 7 months. All this to say, unfortunately, this is the reality of orphanages. The nannies are often responsible for many many babies and end up resenting those babies that are more demanding or have issues. It also saddens me greatly to think of the first 7 months of her life, but I do know that they did what they could given the circumstances.
Just though I would share because when I read Annie's story I was quite taken back by how similar both their stories are.

You have two beautiful girls and I love reading what they are up to each day.
