Lucy 319/365

Annie 319/365

Today I am thankful for arriving in Vietnam on this exact day one year ago for our Annie. It was so cool to land in Vietnam and have Lucy back there again, even if she didn't know at all what the significance was. For those of you that didn't read Annie's travel blog, our trip there was a little messed up when we missed our connecting flight from Tokyo to VN, but it ended up being a blessing because it really helped with the time change adjustment. Tomorrow is the day that we finally got to meet Annie. I have so many mixed emotions about our trip because of how rough Annie's life had clearly been before we got there. It is still hard for me to process a lot of it. I will write more about all of that tomorrow.

I am not feeling great and Annie is really not feeling great. She is a mess. Justin has been a HUGE help today and I am very thankful for that. I took a nap this afternoon and Annie took an almost 4 hour nap. I have been loading up on Wellness Formula hoping to avoid anything serious. I honestly think my body has just finally had it with everything and is demanding rest.

Here are some pictures of a little bitty Lucy as we traveled to Vietnam.

Thank you for sharing pictures each day and little blips about life...
We know, two times over as well, the feelings you will be having tomorrow. Looking forward to reading your thoughts.
I love to think about my kiddo's being born in small provinces on the other side of the world and God knowing He set those precious kiddos in my heart and my home forever. Its truly amazing!

Have a blessed Sum Hop Day. (Sum Hop, Vietnamese for "to unite, to come together")

Wow, can't believe it has been one year already. Loved following your journey to Annie. Hope you're feeling better and can enjoy your special family day. Have you ever tried Airborne? I swear by it whenever I start feeling run down or like I am coming down with something. Feel better. Hugs to you and your beautiful family.

I cannot fathom that we could possibly have had Annie for a year! Actually, it seems like she has always been a blessed part of our life! Hope you all get to feeling better, and I can't wait to see the pics and read tomorrow! Get some rest! Love and kisses, LeeLee

A year sure flies by! I am so greatful that you have shared all these moments with all of us! I remember reading and praying for you guys while you were in VN, my heart broke for Miss Annie, I remember how sad her skin looked, it broke my heart knowing what a ruff start she had, but now a year later she is quite the amazing girl! I hope you feel better in the morning same with Annie! And happy Anniversary!

Wow - a year. I remember crying and crying for/with you last year during that trip, what an amazing journey this year has been for you. I've always loved that picture of Lucy in that ac/dc t-shirt!

I agree with your mom - it seems like she's always been here! Hard for me to believe it's only been a year. Wow - what a difference a year has made. She has made such tremendous strides in the past year. What an amazing little girl. I was so anxious for you last year. Even with all your magic that makes children have instant chemistry with you, Annie wasn't quite sure about what you had to offer. Who would have guessed that the baby that wouldn't stop screaming would turn out to be the baby that rarely stops smiling. Again - hard to believe she's come so far just a year later. What a blessing those two girls are!

Time is flying like a race horse passing by your window ( an old Vietnamese saying), and such an amazing year for Annie, she has grown into a happy, adorable todler, and Lucy has grown into a gorgeous little lady from a pretty todler.

It's so hard to think about, or imagine, what our children's lives were like before they came home. I know, for me, I usually choose to simply not "go there" but in the moments I do I can go through a whole realm of emotions in just seconds.

I'm just so grateful, as I know you are, that my girls are home and loved so completely.

Tomorrow is completely a day for celebration! It's the day you met your baby . . . and the day she met her family.

I cannot believe how tiny Lucy was only a year ago. The age between 2-3 is so huge from growth. Bittersweet. I'm sure this next few days will be a conflict of emotions as you relive your trip. I hope you feel better rested and on the mend soon.
