I hope that everyone had a safe and exciting 4th of July. We had a great day. Lee Lee and Papa are in town, so you know Lucy is a happy girl. The morning of the 4th we went to our neighborhood parade. It was so cute and Lucy really enjoyed it - especially the candy. I can't wait for next year because she can drive her Gator in the parade. There were lots of kids on their electric ride on toys, but she needs to know how to steer before I turn her loose in a parade. It was such a great parade because it is totally geared for the kids in the neighborhood. Anyone is welcome to walk or ride their bike or drive their car. It is not too long - the whole thing took about 40 minutes to come past us. It will definitely become a tradition for us.
After the parade, we ate some lunch and took naps. Then we ate dinner with Mandy, Arnaud, Louis, and Anna before heading down for the fireworks display. It was hot, but not too miserable. The girls had plenty of time to run around and play before it got dark. I was not sure what Lucy would think of the fireworks. At 9:15 they would send up one firework every two minutes so that you could make sure you were in a seat that you could see them from. Lucy was acting really scared. She would bury her face in my or Lee Lee's chest. This child LOVES drama, and I think it was mostly an act. Once they really started going, she was totally fine, watched them, and said things like "Pretty! Cool!! Loud!!" She did great staying up until about 11 pm and slept in this morning.
I am not too crazy about my pictures from yesterday. I wish I would have gotten some better ones. The first ones are from the park on the 3rd with Anna and Louis.
I do love this one!
Waving to the fireman at the parade
The girl ate a lot of candy yesterday
So excited to do her favorite thing - throw anything into the water!
4th of July will wear a girl out - and her Papa!

I don't really know what I am doing when it comes to taking pictures at night, so this was the best I could do this year!

Hope that everyone had as great a 4th of July as we did!! This girl has some energy! Was fun to be able to see Mandy's family--they are so nice. Justin-I love the way that every time we see time we see a bus that Lucy talks to Daddy and blows you a kiss!!!!! Love and kisses, LeeLee
The girls look so cute together in their polkadots. :) Glad you had a wonderful holiday...although how could you not with family, candy and a parade?
The ring around the rosey pic is really cute! Looks like a fun 4th!
It was really nice meeting you and Lucy at Ikea today. My husband and I really enjoy your blog. We have a blog for our adoption journey, however I don't update it too regularly. Take care, Annette

Happy Fourth!
I'm glad Lucy had a fun day! Her polka dot dress is adorable.
Hi! I have been following your blog for about a week. Your daughter is absolutely stunning. You seem like a great mom! I actually came across it by googling "pink chicken" and "misha lulu". I love their stuff. We were in the process of adopting from Vietnam but pulled out in March due to all of the craziness that was going on with VN. We are now considering Ethiopia. The process starts again! Anyways, I love your blog! It is officially my daily candy!
Those 2 sure are cute together. Love that pic of Lucy sitting with her arm back, resting on her hand...what attitude!
Actually, that's a pretty cool fireworks photo, but Lucy definitely stole the show. She has so much attitude and you seem to capture it perfectly with your photos!
Great pics as always Kel! Anna and Lucy are to precious together. I am glad you guys had a great 4th!
