Just when I said that I was back to being a better blogger, I go and don't post for a week. I think it is the heat, but I have had little to no motivation to do a whole lot lately. Here is what we have been up to the past week.
Saturday night, Lucy had the worst fall that she has ever had. She slipped in our shower and hit her nose and mouth on the tile floor. It was awful. Her nose bled and her lip was busted. I was so upset. I know that I can't stop her from every fall and bump, but this was one that I really wish I could have stopped. She was totally fine after a few minutes of hard crying. I just held her in the shower until her nose stopped bleeding. After a few minutes, she was back to sitting on the floor of the shower and splashing around. Here is a picture of her fat lip. She looks so sad, but she was jumping around and playing.
Here is Lucy after church on Sunday. She does so great at church now. She never cries and she is always playing when I come and pick her up. It makes me so happy.
This is from one afternoon this week at the pool. These bottoms are from last summer and they still fit great! Lucy can totally pull off that whole topless baby thing.
Then this afternoon we discovered a place that quickly moved to the top of our favorite afternoon outings. A sprinkler/fountain park. It was so fun and a great place to play and stay cool in the miserable heat. We got told by several people that Lucy looked like a movie star, and she totally did - sunglasses, floppy sun hat, and a Starbucks cup. Nicki, she is following in Addison's footsteps and she is obsessed with sunglasses. These are some of my favorite pictures of my funny girl.
Mandy, here is Anna. I want to make sure and continue journaling your life so that you don't have to! :)
Lucy and Ava
We went to the Thursday concert at the Arboretum tonight. Lucy seriously had the time of her life. She cut a rug on the dance floor. I am going to get video next time. She has a couple of signature dance moves that are so funny. My favorite is the one that looks like she is a bird trying to take flight. The band loved her and I got some great pictures of her and a few band members. The kids can get right up by the stage. She didn't get to bed tonight until 10. Party animal.
These girls love each other. They were cracking themselves up and chasing one another. They held hands the whole long walk down to the dance floor. It made me melt.
It was an 80s band and they were in full costume. I LOVED the music.
I hope you all have a great weekend!

Videos and Pictures Galore
This is a lot of video and pictures for one post, but the grandparents are going to love it. I wanted them to see all of Lucy's talking and craziness. I think that the reason that I have not been blogging much the past couple of weeks is because Lucy was going through a little phase. It was not a really fun phase and was exhausting for me. When she was sleeping, I mostly wanted to lay in bed and watch tv. I had no energy to do much else because she was just wearing me out. She was testing me in every way possible, whining A LOT, and just being a little toot. I don't want you all to think that this child never goes through that, because she definitely does. Luckily for me, the phases usually never last longer than 2 weeks and then she is back to her normal self, which has already happened. Yeah!!
A little background for this video - She is always talking about Justin being on the bus (the bus comes and gets Justin when he leaves to go on the road - Lucy LOVES it when the bus comes to our house - but any time she sees any bus, she thinks her daddy is on it. When we see a city bus, she says, "Daddy, bus, YEAH!!!") When she talks about her friend Ava, she says Ava, nice. That is because Lucy has been known to bully her friend Ava, so whenever I tell her we are going to see Ava, I also tell her we are going to play nicely with her. So now she says, nice any time she says Ava. So funny to me.

Eating ice cream - her favorite thing in the world. She probably ate the most I have ever seen her eat for dinner tonight. It was awesome, so she gets a treat any time she eats her dinner well. Lucky girl!

And this is what she is like after ice cream. Wild child!! She went straight from dinner to the shower to get the ice cream off of her.

We went to the Arboretum today with our buds. I got better pictures of Anna than I did of Lucy today. Such cuties!!
They got to play in the fountains after lunch
Anna LOVES the camera, which makes me very happy. She will look straight in the camera, which is always a challenge with Lucy.
This is so cute!
Anna on the frogs
I love this picture. Lucy was kicked back chillin on my lap.
After Lucy's nap, we ran a few errands. We ended up getting this sprinkler thing for the yard that she loved. It is so hot here.
Lucy ate this enormous plate of food tonight - roast, mashed potatoes, carrots, cantaloupe and cheese. It was the biggest dinner I have ever seen her eat.

What We've Been Doing
Even though I have not been blogging very well lately, does not mean that we have not been busy. We have been doing all kinds of fun things lately.
First, my new favorite place is the Farmer's Market. I find it completely ridiculous that I have not been there before a week ago, but I am starting to go every Tuesday morning to get our produce during the summer. Lucy and I had a great time there last weekend and we got fresh peaches, blackberries, raspberries, plums, tangeloes, cantaloupe, avacado, corn, tomatoes, potatoes - red, baking, and sweet. Lucy has been eating so well this week!! Yeah. Lots and lots of fruits and veggies. Justin's parents grow an amazing vegetable garden every year, and so far we have gotten squash and green beans from them. I cannot wait for the tomatoes and corn. It is so yummy!! We also got two of the most beautiful hydrangeas and 2 big hibiscus plants from the farmers market. I have had some planters for a long time and never gotten anything in them, but they look awesome now.
We went to the zoo with some friends this morning and went swimming this afternoon. Lucy has not been in a big swimming pool this year until today. I wasn't sure what she would think of it, but she LOVED swimming. She loved to jump of the edge to me and even let me put her all the way underwater several times. We still need to work on keeping her mouth shut, but she is going to be a great swimmer this summer.
Here are a few pictures from this week.

Slacker
I have been a terrible blogger this week. I just have not had much to write about, have been bad about taking pictures, and have been working on some projects around our house. All of this resulted in a bad blogger. I have kind of felt like my head has been in the clouds lately.
Lucy and I ate lunch with Mandy and Anna this afternoon. I always hate it when I don't have my camera because the girls were being so adorable. They were chasing each other, skipping side by side, giggling, and just having a big time in general. Such cuties. Lucy draws so much attention on her own, but when Anna is by her side, they are so stinkin cute together that literally every person has to stop and say something about their insane cuteness. Lucy loves Anna. She has several friends that she plays with on a regular basis, but Anna is the only one that she really plays with and is always nice to. Sometimes Lucy can be a bit of a bully. Yikes. :) She does better with older kids.
This afternoon we headed out for a bit and I got these cute pics. I will try and be better next week with my posting.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
