I Got the Bug

Lucy was kind enough to share her stomach bug with me. Last night when she was eating dinner, I started to feel yucky. I managed to get her bathed and to bed (with no bottle - we are on day 2 of being bottle free and she has refused to drink a single sip of milk even though she really wants it - I think she will give in to milk in the sippy cup eventually, but not just yet). By this point I was really not feeling well and I knew what was coming. I was sick all night long. Really not fun. I feel like I have been run over by a truck. Lucy has been so easy today though, so that has been very nice. We are having a very lazy day. In honor of my complain free goal, here is what I am so thankful for: 1) That Lucy was not nearly as sick as I was with this bug, 2) That I was sick in the night while she was sleeping and not trying to keep up with her while feeling like that, 3) that she has been so sweet and easy today because I am totally exhausted and weak, and 4) that I have great neighbors and friends who have offered to take care of Lucy if I need them to. Of course, Justin was gone when this happened, so I have been on my own. I can't wait to feel normal again.

I thought I would note how this blog has been jumping with visitors lately. I get lots of international hits from countries like Canada, United Kingdom, Malta, Phillipines, Spain, Vietnam, South Korea, Netherlands, Belgium, Argentina, Mexico, France, Qatar, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Cyprus, Switzerland, and Portugal. Pretty crazy, huh? I would love to hear from those of you who read that I don't know. I have been averaging around 300 hits a day since I have started writing more.

Also, I have been tagged a few times. Sorry I am just now getting around to this. I really think I am the last person in the VN adoption community to do this.

I hope you feel better soon. It's nice that Lucy is being so easy for you today. She must know you're tired and sick!

I cant believe how far your blogger reach is! I think its gotta be partly because of the amazing photos you take of the gorgeous girl!

Feel better Kel! How do you know who's reading your blog? I'm still new to this & don't know how to see hits or anything like that. Also, I think you need to replace one of your "emails you the most" with chatroom. I know we've all been lagging lately, but I think that we can all add up to a collective one. Get better!

Kelly--hope that you are feeling a little better! We had such a nice time with Justin last night. Very nice visit! Amy and I have been hot on the trail of my Valentine goodies for the family. We are pooped! Get some rest and kiss the Goose for me.

Hi Kelly,
My name is Kim, and I'm from Pennsylvania. My husband and I adopted our son from Guatemala. I can't really remember how I came across your blog--probably from someone's blog roll. I've never commented before, so I just wanted to say "hello." Lucy is so adorable!

Sorry you got the bug and that Justin was out of town- at least that means maybe he won't get it though.

As for your tag- we are taking Tori to Disney this coming up winter and the Orient Beach in St. Maarten is one of my favorites!

I live in Little Rock and also went to the U of A. My good friend is Jessica of bringinghomebe.blogspot.com and she told me how cute your blog was and that I might recognize you from Fayetteville. My best friend also lives off Knox Henderson in Dallas, so it is neat to read your take on the same places that I also happen to frequent.
Cute family! Cute blog!

HI, I check your blog often. I am from no where amazing to others, Tulsa, OK- but its perfect for me! (Although I wouldn't mind some long stints in Vietnam.)
We love seeing little Lucy grow and looking at her beautiful pictures.
I am shocked at the 300 hits a day. You are popular! What a way to share Gods love- and love for adoption- to others from around the world.

Hi Kelly! I’m a MN mom who has been reading and loving your blog since the fall of ‘o6 when I accidentally found it. Our computer had crashed and we had just purchased a new one. I was trying to rebuild my list of favorites and was searching for a travel blog that I had been following. Your blog came up as a search result and I curiously checked it out. I was hooked after reading it one time and have been sending my good wishes and happy thoughts your way ever since. Good friends of ours were in the process of adopting their third child (this one from Guatemala) while you were waiting for Lucy. I’ve broadened my knowledge of adoption by reading your perspective—thanks! And, I’ve especially enjoyed watching your little Lucy grow. Last May, I started my own blog which has been fun way to keep friends and family updated on our kids. If you get a chance, you can check it out via my profile. Hope you feel better soon!

Hi, I'm a daily reader, but I've never posted before. I came across you blog by doing a google search for "adoption videos," when I was looking for music ideas for my two daughters' videos. I've been reading about your adorable ever since! And, the curiosity about which band your husband is in is driving me crazy!!! If you don't post that for security reasons, I totally understand but I'd love to know. He looks so familiar.

Our two daughters were adopted from China and we are waiting for approval to go back for a little brother who is waiting in Guangxi Province.

Please ignore all of the typos in my post. I had a four-year-old and a two-year-old literally climbing on me while typing!
