Happy 8 Month Birthday Little One

Today is Lucy's 8 month birthday. Can you believe it?? I really can't. We have now had her for just over 3 months and it seems like she has been with us forever. Here is what she is doing at 8 months:
-She has 2 bottom teeth and is working hard on more
-She can sit
-She crawls in the normal crawling position and can get herself to the sitting position on her own
-She pulls up on EVERYTHING and is able to get herself back down
-She tries to climb on everything, even things that there is clearly no way she is getting on - she will try and throw her leg up and work on it for quite some time - very amusing to watch
-She LOVES Cheerios and yogurt, everything else is pretty blah to her - I am about to really start integrating more normal foods since she seems to like them so much better than baby food
-She takes 2 naps a day - they have gotten significantly shorter recently
-At night she prefers to sing herself to sleep - I wish she would let me rock her, but she honestly likes her own space sometimes
-She prefers to be playing on the floor with her toys to being held most of the time
-She is definitely a momma's girl but she ADORES her daddy and is always grinning for him
-When we are out in public, she is much more guarded and NEVER smiles for strangers - everyone always comments on how serious she is, but at home she is a giggly, smiley pumpkin
-She pulled up the other day and grabbed something and stood on her own for 5-10 seconds before she realized it and grabbed back on

I can't wait to report what she is doing in another month. I say it all of the time, but it is amazing how much she changes and learns from week to week.

We went to a wedding this weekend and she looked like an angel. Here she is with her sweet cousin Austen.

Grace is just like Lucy, serious to people she isn't used to. I always feel like I should reassure people that she really isn't like this at home.

HAPPY 8 MONTH BIRTHDAY, LUCY:)!!! Kelly, I can't believe she is 8 months old! She gets cuter and cuter every day (if that is even possible!??)! I love the new pics! You can tell she is so proud of herself standing with that toy:)! Thanks for the updates on her progress! That is always fun to know. You are such a good momma:)!

It's crazy that time passes so slowly while waiting for your child when you just want it to go by quickly, then the exact opposite happens when you bring the baby home. Geez, we can't catch a break!! LOL

Having said that, I love seeing the changes & accomplishments week after week. As I told Sherri, hearing about Lucy and Gracie helps me prepare for life with Lily Ana. I can't wait!! I also can't wait to get all three girls together one day. What a celebration that will be!

It feels like you just brought her home. I can't believe that it's been three months already. Amazing how the time flies once they're home.
