Sending our Prayers

First of all, I want to say how sad and upsetting the whole Virginia Tech massacre has been to me. I am praying for all involved with it. What a horrible thing. I just feel as though this should be addressed and let people know that we are praying for your comfort through this very very hard time. I am so sorry to all affected by this.

Secondly, I got a strange comment from my previous post. It said:

WOW, I cannot believe that your husband missed that big day. Time for a priority check???

This has more than rubbed me the wrong way. Why make such a comment without knowing whatsoever why he was not there? Why be rude when it was such a special thing for us? Anonymous, did you think that my husband just woke up and thought, "I think I will skip my daughters readoption day for the hell of it." Or maybe you thought he was out golfing with his friends or watching a baseball game. Seriously, is this what you were thinking? Just so that you know and to ease your mind, my husband was out of town working. Not something that he could miss or reschedule, that is simply not an option, which by the way is our business to deal with. So you may be thinking why not pick a different date for court? Well, the only other day in April that we could have done it he would have been gone as well. So, we made the family decision to do it on the court's Adoption day so that we could celebrate with other families who have been through similar situations. Not all of us have husband's with 9 to 5 jobs and can make it to every event. I wish that were the case, but let's be realistic, it just is not possible for all of us. Justin is the most amazing and wonderful Dad to Lucy and he would never miss a thing for her if he didn't have to. But he has to make a living so that I can stay home with her and we can live. Period. I feel better now for addressing this issue.

Now, to brighten our lives, here is the fun part that reminds me everyday how blessed we are. Yesterday, I got some of the cutest pictures to date of Lucy, but I can't upload them for a bit because we are in Little Rock visiting my parents with Lucy and don't have my camera cord. I got some cute ones today though on my mom's camera, so here you go. We are totally into the BIG bows these days. By the way, Lucy learned yesterday that she can climb up stairs. Super scary!!

My heart also goes out to everyone living the nightmare of the shooting.

Okay, all I have to say to the person who left the rude comment is... Quit dipping if you don't know what the flavor is!

Adding new photos of your sweet girl is always the perfect way to end a post. She looks adorable, as always. Can't wait to see the others!

I love the big bow! Lucy is stunning. And whoever was disrespecting Justin better back off. He is not only a loving father and husband, but also a truly nice guy. Those aren't so plentiful these days.

I read your blog daily - I had to delurk...

I'm so sorry you had a to deal with that rude comment. What's wrong with people!? You don't need to justify yourself to anyone - it's your business. It's obvious your husband loves his girls.

LOVE the huge bows. :) so cute on such a tiny baby.

Must be annonymous comment day - I got my first one that I felt a need to reply to, too! At least mine was nicer.

One of my biggest pet peeves is people who make judgments about other people's lives. Worse yet are people who do it without knowing a damn thing about what they are talking about. Susan said it best - quit dipping if you don't know what the flavor is. Or how about just quit dipping at all. Becuase I am sure, annonymous asshat, that your life isn't so perfect that you can afford to cast judgment on ANYONE.

Ok, sigh, breathe! Better now!

I'm so sad about the shootings too. How awful.

And the bows? Perfect! When will Addy have enough hair for ANY bows, much less huge ones! Lucy is just adorable! Can't wait to see the pics!

Love the bow! I don't love judgemental snarky people! Leave Lucy's Mommy and Daddy alone!

I am absolutely seething! Anyone can leave a nasty comment, but it takes a real coward to leave it anonymously. Obviously, they have way bigger issues with their own priorities if they feel like they have try to drag someone else down to their level. Justin works really hard so that you can stay home with Lucy, and I will feel blessed if we can do the same. How maddening...

Lucy looks great with her new bows! Is she actually keeping them in? :-)

Been there with the comments thing, it sucks. At first you get all mad and bent out of shape, but then you realize you know your family and situation, then you get mad again as how dare they....it is a horendous cycle.
I was going to comment that I am sorry he had to miss as I know that it surely wasn't an easy decision. If only all dads could pick up and miss work for whatever...pay or no pay, bills or whatever.
Love the pics of your little Lucy, she is such a doll! Make sure you teach her to go down the steps, she is about old enough to learn and the way she climbs it shouldn't be hard for her to figure it out with you help. Start about three steps up and teach her to crawl backwards down them. Practice until she is good!

YOU GO GIRL! :) You chose your words nicely. I may have been a little less "classy" if I had to deal with that jerk...

ANYWAY! Can't wait to see you this weekend. I miss my girls like crazy. Tell Lucy her favorite is about to be in town!

VIDEOS KEL! MORE VIDEOS!

I LOVE YOU

So sorry that you had to endure that bit of nasty talk. people like her give Anonymous posters a bad name. Note they didn't have the courage to sign his/her name (like I always do -he he). Enough said, they don't deserve the time. Lucy's bow is adorable!

I, too, am praying for all the Vtech families. My little brother graduated from their engineering program in May and has several friends that were in the building. Thank God all were ok, but not everyone was so fortunate, and I truly pray for their families in this horrible time.

On another note- our babies are about the same age and the crawling up the stairs thing scared us too! We put a video of it up on our site.

Sorry to hear someone, not even brave enough to name themselves, judged your husband like that. That is just crappy! Congrats on the readoption!

Enjoyed your post...It wasn't all that long ago that I was in college and I just can't imagine something like that happening. My heart also goes out to all of these who have been affected by such a tragedy!

Also, poo poo the person with the rude comment. Simply not fair for others to cast judgement on an unknown situation!

As always, Lucy is as cute as a button! Love the bow!

Kelly- sorry about the anon comment, I have had several on all my different blogs. They suck. And are un-nerving.

Conor probably won't be able to attend adoption day either because he travels for work and travel is just a reality for us. If I want to stay home, he has to travel.

Cute pictures. I think I need to get me some big bows.

First I will start out by say that how can someone who does not know you or your husband pass such harsh judgement? Did this person just assume that he did not want to go by choice? Well, we all know what happens when you assume something.... You make an ass out of yourself.

Now onto better things, I am loving the big bows!!! Miss Lucy is a total fashion diva. I can't wait until I get my own fashion diva home.

She is absolutely gorgeous. She looks so good surrounded by all those bright, cheerful colors!

I'm so sorry you received such a rude comment. I have little patience for people who judge. My husband works crazy hours & travels a lot as well, so I know how it goes. It's obvious you are BOTH wonderful parents.

Your Lucy is so friggin' cute she makes my teeth hurt from the sweetness. I just can't wait to get my own Lucy home with us (although she's bald as a pool ball right now, so the hair ornaments will have to wait till...well, till she's got hair). I've enjoyed your blog -- and your photography. Thanks for writing.

Oh those pictures of Lucy are the cutest! I just LOVE the big brown bow! I have been collecting bows again and her big sissy has been wearing them till she gets home or grows hair for them!
"quit dipping if you don't know what flavor?"!! Susan's comment was too funny and so true!!

Anon...whateva! Love all the new photos..what a doll baby she is. Stairs...I am not a fan really...Annslee would never go up or down on her bottom or knees and she insists on doing it the "big" way..you know never two feet on the same stairs. I stand behind and wait...it is scary

Kelly,
I think that whoever posted that must be really jealous of you guys...beautiful couple and baby, a warm and loving family. It's just so junior-high to make one's self feel better by trying to cut down someone else. Sad, really. Anyway I hope you are having fun in Little Rock...looks like you are! Isn't it funny how both the Lucys are now wearing the big bows? I LOVE them!

Some people I just don't understand. We live in a scary world and the fact that some anonymous person felt the need to comment without leaving a name is just plain stupid. Sorry you had to deal with that. BUT on a brighter note your little Lucy is gorgeous

I just came upon your blog today. What a beautiful daughter. I am so sorry you had to deal with such a rude comment. You really owed no one an explanation. Anyone who hides behind an anonymous comment like that isn't worth answering to.
