Just Hanging On

Lucy is so so sick and she has been since Sunday. She has a high fever, horrible cough, congestion, etc. She is miserable. I have never seen her like this. She slept almost all day today. We have been to the doctor and started an antibiotic in case it is a severe sinus infection, but I am scared she has the flu. I am REALLY scared we are all going to have it next week while we are supposed to be with family for Christmas. Justin or I have held Lucy all day the past few days. She just wimpers all day. She has no appetite but she is drinking water and juice. Please say a prayer for her healing. She really feels awful.

We are all EXHAUSTED. Annie is having a terrible time sleeping at night and Lucy is up several times as well because of big coughing fits. So between the two girls up and down all night, I feel like I am sleep walking through life at the moment. We never get more than a 45 minute stretch of sleep before one of them is up again.

I am so sad for Lucy because she missed her school Christmas party today and her playgroup is decorating Christmas cookies tomorrow. She would have loved both of these things, but she can barely lift her head up. I also planned on taking the girls to Santa this week, but there is no way at the rate we are going. Again, please pray for her to get better and for the rest of us to stay well so that we can care for her.

No pictures because I have had at least one girl in my arms non stop since Saturday. There is no way I could have taken any pictures and trust me, Lucy looks as pitiful as she feels. I got Lucy's school pictures today and I can't wait to post them. They are too cute.

Oh that's the worst! Hope she feels better soon. I have 3 sick babies over here and not enough arms to hold them all. Can't wait for summer! Hope she feels better soon

Kelly, I'm so very sorry to read this news. I do pray that Lucy is feeling much better in no time, and that nobody else in the family comes down with whatever she has. I also pray for some precious sleep for all of you. Hugs from Petunia and me.

Aw, it stinks so much to be sick and it sound like she's been hit hard. I hope Lucy's on the mend right away and you can still enjoy your first Christmas all together without icky sickness hanging over you.

So sorry that Lucy is not well. She has been such a big girl, I am praying she is up and running around soon. I hope that you are all well and enjoy the family. BTW - Justin needs to learn to use the camera so you can be in a picture someday. Love you all.

Kelly,
I am so sorry to hear Lucy is so sick. It is jsut awful when you see your little girl so pitiful and wish you could just help and make her feel better....Did they test Lucy for the flu, it sounds exactly how my daughter sounded last year when she had the flu. I pray it isn't so you guys all don't get sick and can enjoy your Christmas with your family.

Oh dear, I am so sorry to hear Lucy is feeling so miserable. No fun at anytime, but especially not this time of year. Poor baby, hope she starts perking up very soon, and really hoping everyone else escapes catching it. Hope that you and Justin can get some sleep and stay healthy. Sending good thoughts and prayers your way.

Poor Lucy!! (and poor mommy and daddy too!) Prayers for a speedy recovery and that no one else gets it!

oh no!!!!! I feel awful for all of you. Kids are funny - sometimes they just wake up better so suddenly! I hope that's the case with Lucy. I always get so nervous and exhausted (mentally AND physically) when my tiny ones get so sick. I hope you and J can tag-team sleep today so you don't wear yourselves down too much. Pop lots of vitamins, too! What crappy timing, huh?

SORRY TO HEAR THAT FOR ALL OF YOU. I HOPE LU GETS BETTER AND YOU GUYS DO NOT GET IT. WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO YOU GUYS NEXT WEEK. I WOULD BE GLAD TO HELP WITH THE GIRLS WHILE YOU ARE HERE SO YOU BOTH CAN GET SOME SLEEP. I AM SURE NANA WILL TOO! ALSO, AUNT CAYCE HAD PLANNED FOR LUCY AND AUSTEN TO MAKE AND DECORATE SUGAR/CHRISTMAS COOKIES HERE SO IF SHE MISSES OUT SHE WILL FOR SURE HAVE ANOTHER CHANCE TO DO THAT. I THINK THEY WILL HAVE A BLAST. I ALSO HAVE ANOTHER SURPRISE TREAT FOR LUCY AND AUSTEN TO DO WHILE YOU ARE HERE. HOPEFULLY IT WILL MAKE UP FOR WHAT SHE MISSED. POOR THING. TAKE CARE ALL OF YOU AND KEEP US POSTED ON HOW THINGS ARE GOING. LOVE YOU ALL.

Oh boy. Your introduction into the world of two children has been nothing short of difficult. It gets better and I so hope that Lucy starts feeling better and that it skips you and Justin. Ugh. I know how horrible it is, I am in the thick of it myself. Not that it makes you feel better now...hang in there!

that sleep sounds like my girls for the first 8 months. It is soo hard to deal with no sleep. Hopefully Lucy will get better soon. Can you get Annie a flu shot just in case?

I hope she feels better soon and that everyone is in the clear for the holidays. Kelly, I hope you get some sleep soon. I have been dealing with Linhsey's sleep issues for 16 months. I would never wish it upon anyone!

Ugh - I'm so sorry. Matty and I both had the flu (and also took antibiotics just in case) and it was horrible. It lasted over two weeks. I hope Lucy isn't sick for as long and that she's better by xmas (and you all stay well). Take care of yourself! Being that tired is hard.

I am sorry to hear about Lucy not feeling well. I will be praying that she feels better soon. I will also pray for both of the girls to get some rest. Lack of sleep is the worst. Jade has been up a lot too just stressed from the transition and us being away. and it is so hard when both children are up crying. Hopefully all will be better so you all can enjoy Christmas with your family.

Oh Kelly, I am so sorry. I will be praying that Lucy feels much, much better very quickly, and that none of the rest of you come down with it. Matthew had the flu when he was about Lucy's age, it was awful, the sickest I have ever seen him, the flu is nasty stuff!!!

I am so sorry that ya'll are going through this right now. I really pray that it is NOT the flu! With the weather we have been having, I really don't doubt that it is sinus crap; I know that's been going on here. I'm praying for you and the family! Hope it gets better!

I sure hope that Lucy feels better soon. My two kids have been very sick this past week, so I can sympathize with the No Sleep. It is so hard when your little ones are sick and look to you to make them feel better. Lots of meds and tons of love.
