Happy Birthday to Me!

Well, I am a few days late, but on Saturday I turned 28 years old. I had an awesome birthday. I had a blast with friends who graciously took me out. I had a little too much fun and really paid the price all day Saturday. Justin's parents were in town, so they were SO awesome and helped out with Lucy all weekend. My mom came in town on Sunday and Justin took me out to a wonderful dinner. I got my dream watch from Justin and my dream camera (Nikon D40 - my first big girl camera) from my parents. What more could a girl ask for?!?! Nothing really.

In Lucy news, she now has one point from her bottom left molar poking through. She still has not gotten her 4th top tooth. I can see and feel where all of her molars are coming in. They are driving her bonkers. I really feel sorry for her. Sometimes she sticks her fingers back there to try and figure out what the heck is going on and she gags herself. She is still chattering constantly. She turned 14 months on Monday. I just can't believe how big she is. Well, she really isn't big, she just acts really big. We were at Old Navy today and I tried this faux fur coat on her. She proceeded to prance all through the store, dancing and smiling and simply showing off in her coat. She seemed to think she looked pretty great in it, and my mom and I agreed.

In really big news, my sister, Holly, is having her second baby boy this Friday. Lucy will no longer be the baby grandchild. We are so excited to see little Wyatt's precious face. It is so exciting to know that he will be here so soon. I will be taking lots of pictures of the kiddos together.

Before you all go and think that I am some crazy lady who has her child's pictures professionally made all of the time, I must explain. A friend of a friend is starting a photography business in the DFW area. She wanted to practice on some people that she didn't know, and my friend suggested practicing on Lucy - since I am always up for having her picture made. We went to the Arboretum, where the Autumn Festival is going on. There are literally thousands of pumpkins and it is amazing to see. Here is a sneak peak of a few of the pictures. Scroll down to the second and third entries from the top. They are so cute. I can't wait to see them all!

Here are some of my favorite pictures from today with my new camera. LOVE THEM! I know there are a ton, but I just wanted to share.

Precious Bianca

I can FINALLY catch some smiles!!! YEAH!

Maybe my favorite picture I have ever taken of her.

We call Lucy Linus all of the time because she drags her blankee around like this constantly. She holds it over her shoulder and it pretty much goes everywhere with her.

I want to cry with jealousy over your D40. Maybe if I am very very good Santa will bring me one too! Your pictures are truly phenom! They were always great but your quality difference is gigantic.

I can't believe Lucy beat Addy in the molar department. We are living in that same swollen sore hell and it just really sucks.

Oh and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!! Sounds like you had a fantastic weekend, beginning to end!

Happy belated birthday -- for once, the "belated" part isn't my fault but yours! Yippee! As always, what an adorable precocious kiddo you've got.

Happy birthday!
Is the ND40 not the coolest camera EVERY? It's like playing professional photographer everyday. At the top of my Christmas list is a photo editing program called Lightroom, and based on the free trials (30 days free!) I've had, it's amazing what you can do.

I'm so excited that you got the D40. I really think you're going to love it. Your first pics with the new camera are great! We need to get together so I can show you some neat tricks in Photoshop, like we talked about.
