Summer Fun

Today was such a fun day with Lucy. First, this morning we went with some friends to the pool. Lucy took a little while to warm up, but once she did, she started to get the hang of her floaties (this was our first attempt at using them) and would leap off of the side of the pool to me. It was so cute. The weather in Little Rock was amazing today. It was 10 degrees cooler than it has been lately and it felt so nice. We played outside a long time this afternoon and then went and ate dinner at the country club with my parents. It is the best place to take pictures. We ate outside so Lucy could run and play and not feel confined to a table and chair. We went for a golf cart ride, checked out the ducks and swans, and threw rocks in the lake. Papa let Lucy help drive the golf cart and she was just so pleased with herself and the whole evening. Really, we all had an awesome night.

I thought I should note for myself that Lucy is really starting to properly use verbs and pronouns in the past couple of weeks. Instead of saying "Hold you" when she wants picked up she actually said "hold me" today. She is constantly saying phrases like, "I get it" and "Catch it!" I just love that she is really starting to talk to us and we know what she is talking about most of the time.

This is A LOT of pictures, but I just love all of these. They make me smile. Enjoy!

She loves to walk on her tippy toes. This girl LOVES high heels and can walk everywhere in any of my heels. She practices even when no heels are available.

Your compositions are really getting amazing, Kel! I am envious! SO many great pictures!!! Lucy's life sounds so full of joy! It makes me happy just looking at her pictures! i'm thinking of just having them all printed and throwing them in a scrapbook and telling Addy it is her so I'll never have to take another picture! haha. SO funny about the high heels! Addy's trying to figure out the pronouns too. For awhile she called everything "It" instead of he or she - that was hilarious. Today I heard her call me "She" so I know its changing too fast. Don't you already miss the "carry you"?! Sniff.

It does not get any more adorable than the picture of her chasing the ducks. That is certainly a picture you will LOVE looking back on as she grows.

We have that Baby Gap dress too and it's so cute with a BG tank top underneath it. Depending on the color -- white, navy, pink -- it totally changes the look.

Cute photos.

You are such a great photographer....we found your blog when we were hoping to adopt from Vietnam but due to all the conflict are waiting for a referral from Central Asia. I just got to say...nice wardrobe mom. Where do you get such nice un-pink clothes. I have already started loading up on tea collection. Love to know more places to get things that actually look good on little ethnic gals. HEY WORLD NOT EVERYONE LOOKS GOOD IN PINK.

She's a keeper! Warm regards, April

Kelly--just waiting for your call to know that you and Lucy got home safely. The house is too quiet already! Tell your buds that yes, that horse was Holly and yours--then Katy and Amy. Needs some work, but boy does it still rock! Can't wait for you to post the family reunion pics. They are awesome, too. Love and kisses, LeeLee
