Not Feeling Well at All

Poor little Lucy is sick. She has been fighting a cold for about 5 days now and has developed a pretty nasty cough to go along with it. I took her to the doctor yesterday because she started vomitting when she would cough really hard. I don't mean a little spit up, I mean full blown throwing up. It scared me to death. The doctor said that she just has a cold and sent us on our way. He said she would probably be fighting this for another week and gave me some warning signs to look for if she was getting worse. She doesn't have a fever and actually is in pretty good spirits. She is definitely more fussy than usual, but that is to be expected. I feel so bad for her. She gets furious with me about wiping her nose, so I just have decided that she won that battle. I have that gross booger/crusty nosed kid!! Yikes. Not our best.

She wants to be held right now all of the time, so I just throw her in her carrier and do my stuff around the house. At least it keeps her happy. My back is a little sore. I am exhausted from sleeping so little at night because I have been worrying about her so much. She is sleeping fine once she gets down and isn't throwing up. I just wake up every time she makes a little peep worrying that she is going to get sick again. Hopefully tonight will be a little better. I desperately need some rest.

Having a sick baby is hard. Really hard.

thanks for your support! you are like a "rock star" to me (how is that for an ego boost?!)...you keep me inspired and hopeful, and seeing that gorgeous little Lucy is all the motivation you need-right? even if it is full of boogers! ;o)

Oh no..so sorry. The "coughing till you puke" thing is hard. Annslee does it. Last summer at the beach it was for the whole week...grrrr... nothing like a 10 hour car trip with it happening in a car seat..you get the visual..

Hopefully Lucy will get better soon. It really is hard having a sick baby : (

Having a sick child is really hard. My grandma raised 6 kids, born one right after another one. She always said she'd rather take care of 6 well kids than one sick one.
One trick that I used with Ellayna when she first came home and was sick A LOT was let her sleep in her carrier. Having her upright made it easier to breath. I'd sleep on the couch and have her right beside me.

Addison came down with what has been going around our house yesterday. Same deal except add in the fever. It IS really hard and its funny how quickly you let things like snotty noses go in the name of PEACE! Haha. Hope Lucy is feeling better soon. I can handle almost anything with my kids but illness is a tough one for me.

I have 2 sick babies and can't hold both so I always have a screaming baby. My nerves are shot. I am also exhausted.

I hope she gets better quickly. I just wipe the nose, they are pissed off anyway!

Poor little Lucy :( The cough til you vomit thing is nasty...even at 5 y/o Ava still deals with that when she's sick. Keep her upright...that usually helps. Hope she's feeling better very soon!
