I have a couple of things to report on that have made our lives interesting this week and they are as follows:
1. This weekend in Dallas is Texas/OU weekend. What that means is that these two football teams play one another and it is in Dallas every year. This place literally goes nuts for this weekend. There are a zillion fans here for both teams. My neighbors directly next door are really big Texas fans. They throw an enormous Texas/OU party each year on the Thursday before the game.
The last two years they have had the actual Bevo in their yard for the party. In case you have no idea who Bevo is, he is the Texas Longhorn mascot, and he is REALLY big. We have pretty small front yards, especially when you put a lot of people and a huge longhorn in the yard, so this is quite a site to behold. Just for the record, I am from Arkansas, I am a Razorback, and I HATE the longhorns, but this is still cool.
We share a small wrought iron fence in the front that separates our yard from these neighbors. Bevo was backed right up to our yard. I had a horrible feeling that he was going to take a Longhorn sized poop right into our yard. Justin and I go outside to take some pictures of the beast and what does he do within two seconds of us being out there, raises up his tail really high. Anyone who has ever seen a cow, knows this means something bad is about to happen. He is backing up towards our yard as this is happening. I am freaking out and causing a scene by this point. He ends up doing his business and it does land in the neighbors yard, so crisis averted. It was a VERY close call though. And in case you were wondering, no, we do not live in the country. We are right smack dab in the middle of the city.
2. Justin and I got our immunizations this week on Wednesday at the Health Department. With the chance of sounding like an enormous whiny, cry baby, I am going to go ahead and say that it hurt - badly. We got two shots in each arm. My arms feel like I have been carrying around 100 lb weights for the past couple of days because my muscles are still so sore. I am not even scared of getting shots, at all. But after seeing Justin get his shots first, I was scared. First of all, the woman who gave us the shots was a large lady, a really large lady. Second of all, when she gave the shot, she reared back like it was a knife a stabbed us - 4 times each. It was awful. By the end, I thought I was going to pass out or vomit because it hurt so badly. I guess I will live and hopefully we will return from our trip without any diseases now.
3. Here is Lucy's new baby piano. Music is very important in our household. We hope that Lucy will love music as well. We figured you can never start too young, and this is the cutest toy ever. This is what we gave our nephew John for his first birthday. He loves it. Look at how sweet he is in this video!!
4. My wonderful friend, Kate, had a beautiful baby girl yesterday, and I am so happy for her and her husband, Jason. I can't wait to meet the little bundle of joy. She is going to be one of Lucy's best friends. Her name is Liza. I don't have a picture of her yet, but here is her pregnant momma - right in the middle. This was a month ago in Fayetteville, AR. GO HOGS GO!!!
So that is my week in a nutshell. Pretty exciting if you ask me. I hope that everyone has a wonderful and safe weekend.

Where did you get that piano? It is awesome. I would love to get something like that too.
Have a great weekend!
Bevo is fine, but we need more baby info. Like all the shopping you are doing for smaller clothes for Miss Lucy(photos please of the clothes). And can you show anymore cute hint picture of your little one. Those little photos keep the rest of us hanging on!!!!
wow. that is one big cow....er steer....er...whatever. it's big. I was holding my breath reading your post at one point, cuz I can just imagine the kind of deposit that thing can make. Guess even Texas FANS do everything big. ha.
R is a arkansas fan also....he lived in Arkansas for many years.
ditto to melissa, love the piano also. must have one!!!
That is too funny about the mascot!
Sorry about the shots. I hated getting mine too.
Cute piano! I couldn't get the video to work though- it said it was a private video and I had to get permission to get on the friend list.
I love the piano! It's so much better than any I have seen for kids. Sorry about the shots. I haven't gotten mine yet. I'm SUCH a baby, I am completely dreading even making the appointments. :( You survived them and I guess I will too! Thanks for going first Ha ha! :)
