Lucy 40/365

Today I am thankful for all of the new babies that dear friends of mine have recently had. They are all healthy, the mommas are all healthy, and the babies are so precious. I got to have lunch with some of my very best friends from college today. Kathy just had Perry 3 weeks ago. Perry is such a cutie and is already doing so awesome for being so little. She looks a lot like her beautiful momma. I didn't get a single picture of Perry but we will definitely see her again this week, so stay tuned. Jayme and sweet Ellie were also at lunch. Jayme had Ellie several weeks early and Jayme was very sick with extremely high blood pressure, but now at 2 months, both Mom and baby are healthy and happy. Ellie is such a tiny little peanut and she never made a peep - she slept the entire 3 hours we were together. We also saw Maggie, Ted, and their new son Titus, who just turned 3 months old. He was the only boy in the group and I think he liked all of the ladies! He was such a charmer and full of smiles. Mags, it was so great to see you and Ted - it has been WAY too long. Please come and visit us. And finally, my friend Stacey was also along for this crazy visit. She had Annie smiling, laughing, and dancing the entire time, which allowed me to love of the babies. Thanks Stace! It was really rainy and dark here today, so I barely took any pictures. Only Ellie made it into any of the 10 pics that I took. Here she is. Just adorable. I wanted to take more pictures of her for Jayme, but the weather just didn't cooperate.

Lucy stayed with Lee Lee while Annie and I visited everyone. Trust me, she definitely preferred to be at the house with Lee Lee. Plus, we all (yes, all of the adults and 4 little babies) went out to eat. The babies were all perfectly behaved, which was truly a miracle. When I got home, Lucy was napping and this was in the living room:

And so, reason #7,620 why Lucy would like to move in with Lee Lee and Papa - you get to bring antique Wonder Horse inside the house when it is raining outside. How can I compete with that? The girl wants nothing to do with me while we are here. When she wakes up and I go to get her, she starts shouting for Lee Lee. She only wants Lee Lee to get her in/out of her carseat, to hold her when she needs carried, and to change her diapers (I am definitely not complaining about this one). I am totally chopped liver!! What can I say, she loves all of her grandparents. She really has them all wrapped around her little finger.

Annie was not too sure about the horse and Lucy wanted to take her for a few wild rides.

She preferred to talk to him from the safe place of the floor.

And finally, Lee Lee might not be the best diaper changer! Ha. Lucy won't ever stay still, but I think I normally do a little better job than this. Looks like her panties are really in a wad over something.

Today I am thankful for all of the smiles that poured out of Lucy because her day was filled with all kinds of things that she simply adored. First, she put together the fire truck puzzle two times this morning. She loves puzzles right now. Then, she played dress up in all of our old dance costumes and tapped around the house and outside in a pair of my old tap shoes. She just marched around in those tap shoes. It was so cute because they make such a different sound on each surface, so she would move from the deck, to the rock beds, to the grass (she would jump off the grass when she realized the taps made no sound there), to the ceramic tile, and to the hardwood floors. I have three sisters, so the dance costumes are aplenty at my parent's house. This particular costume was Aunt Seashy's when she was 3. After her nap, we played outside for a while until Annie was ready to get up from her nap. Then Papa called from the golf course and said to come up for a golf cart ride. She got to drive the cart, play a little golf, and see the swan. After golf, we ate yummy pizza, came home and swam in a bubble bath, read books, and passed smooth out. This was pretty much a perfect day for a 2.5 year old. And whenever Lucy is happy, Annie is even more happy than normal, so everyone wins!! I love seeing the joy on the girls' faces when they are so happy.

Justin and I both loved Slumdog Millionaire. It was so good. Thanks Mom and Dad for keeping the babies. I am so glad that they were both asleep almost the entire time. Justin put Annie down before we left and she never made a peep! Lucy was more than thrilled to have Lee Lee do her bedtime routine.

Our open house apparently went really well. There were 2 couples that seemed to be really interested. Yeah! One of the couples wants to come back next weekend. Come on!!

I took a zillion pictures today and love a whole bunch of them, so there are a lot today.

I can't even explain how much she loves these tap shoes. She ran in from dinner and put them on again.

The top of the costume got itchy after a while so she took off the straps and just wore it all as a tutu.

Today I am thankful for the peaceful feeling that I get every time that I come to my parent's house. It still always feels like home to me. I am extra relaxed. I love to be here and I love for the girls to be around both sets of their grandparents because they are both so happy around all of them. Lucy and I slept together last night because we got in around 11:30 pm and she was out of sorts. She woke me up this morning chanting about being at Papa and Lee Lee's house. I also love it here because I got to take a morning nap and because Justin and I get to go to the movies tonight, both of which are unheard of at our house. It will be so awesome to have the time with Justin where we just get to do something that we want to do and do it with no distractions. We are going to see Slumdog Millionaire, which is something that we both want to see.

We really just played today. The weather was gorgeous. Lucy got the most awesome surprise after her nap today. We were in the backyard swinging on the swing with Lee Lee. Mom and I could here the ice cream truck in the background. We didn't tell Lucy what it was in fear that it might not come down our street, but we took her to the front yard hoping that it would. She has never seen the ice cream truck before today. The music was getting louder so I ran in to get some money and when I came back out, Lucy and Lee Lee had flagged him down. Lucy got to pick whatever she wanted from the pictures on the side of the truck. She chose a rainbow push up. She thought that this was the coolest thing she has probably ever done. I love seeing her get so excited over something. It doesn't take much to make her day.

We ate at a Hibachi grill tonight. Annie sat in the high chair and watched every single move that the cook made. She was totally enthralled. She didn't cry when they did the big fire, but it made her have a big shiver. The food was yummy and we all are extremely full from dinner. I am sure Justin and I will be able to make some room for popcorn though!

Okay, I have to run because I have a date tonight!

Today I am thankful for a super clean house. I love it when our house is in perfect order and that is just how it is today. It is ready for an open house on Sunday and we are spending the weekend with my parents so that it doesn't get destroyed again. I hope the perfect buyer comes to see it this weekend!!!

That is it for me today. We have too much going on for anything else. Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!!!!
